Using Design Thinking, this class seeks to help students to collect subjective data on how they feel and compare it to objective data from a fitness tracker to redefine health in the 21st century, she said. "Modern medicine is based on an outdated definition of health, as its primary focus on the eradication of disease overshadows the broader and much needed practices of prevention and promotion," Dunaway said. Over the summer, Dunaway is participating in the Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge, helping to test course curriculum and create an app for a new class starting this fall called "Designing your Health".
